Native Renewables empowers native communities, specifically within the Navajo and Hop reservations by giving them access to renewable solar energy and trainings on solar energy technology.
In addition to providing power to traditionally disconnected areas of their reservations, they are creating paths to well-paid careers that aline with Indigenous values. They are also using these as opportunities to support language revitalization, an important part of preserving the ancestral wisdom and storytelling.
It’s inspiring to see this work and it opens up a model to create place-based programs like this around the world that integrate Indigenous cultures of those lands.
